Learn. Develop. Inspire.

Whether your dancer is just beginning their dance journey, or they are refining their skills after years of dancing, we at LDI promise they will learn something new, develop amazing dance skills, and get inspired in new ways with each new season!  At LDI you will find we are more than just a dance studio and we welcome you to join our dance family this season!

Scroll down to view our class descriptions and studio schedule for 2021-2022!

Classes begin September 13th!

We welcome new dancers to try every and all styles the first week! We always encourage trying new things and we do allow schedule changes through December. However, we do prefer and recommend students begin their chosen dance subject(s) closer to the beginning of the dance season to maximize their time for technique, as teachers will begin choreography for recital routines in January.

Classes will focus on technique, terminology, classroom etiquette, flexibility/strength, and learning to work with their classmates in the first 4 months. The focus is then shifted in January to apply what they learned in the fall to being responsible for memorizing choreography, working through formations, developing musicality, and building confidence in performance skills. Each class this season will prepare your dancer to perform in our big year-end recital in June! Classes will always be set in a disciplined yet fun environment with positive, nurturing instruction where our staff will guide each individual dancer to their fullest potential! We invite you learn, develop, and get inspired with us soon!

"Move with Me" is a developmental class with Parent/Guardian  participation with children 18 months – 2.5 years of age. This class offers an environment for children to developmentally grow, both individually and socially in a dance class setting. The caregiver plays an integral part in class by providing comfort and modeling participation.  This class offers an introduction of valuable skills such as listening, taking turns, standing in line, following directions and sequential order.  Additionally, activities will explore gross motor skill development and rhythm activities where the adult and child will both follow along with the instructor. This class is a pre-introduction to dance and is a great class to help transition your children into a dance class on their own.

ACROBATIC ARTS

Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Students will have the opportunity to experience the Acrobatic Arts examination process which  is designed to motivate dancers. Having defined and achievable goals is a proven way to motivate dancers to excel.

Learn more about exams and this program HERE.

WEDNESDAY

6:00-7:00PM - INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

SATURDAY

9:00-10:00am BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE

*There will be certain tricks that will overlap in both our Acrobatic Arts and Acro & Tumbling classes (see below). Acro Arts has more of a focus on the fusion of dance technique, athleticism, flexibility, agility, and strength through acrobatic skills that are seamlessly incorporated into dance choreography. Acro Arts works towards tumbling tricks, but with a more well-rounded focus on balancing, limbering, and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength. This class is recommended for dancers wanting to put acro tricks into their dances as the program uses progressions for dancers to safely learn how to take their tricks off the mats and onto the dance floor.

ACRO & TUMBLING

Tumbling is a high energy class that focuses on stamina, and muscle strength, through repetition of movement. This class will work more towards tricks where they are completely off the floor (like aerials, back handsprings, back tucks, etc). Tumbling classes will focus more on getting the students to be "fearless" and get rid of mental blocks for these more advanced skills.

*This class is great for cheerleaders wishing to advance their skills as well!

TUESDAY

7:45-8:45pm Advanced

FRIDAY

6:45-7:45pm Beginner/Intermediate

*Advanced students should already have or be close to a standing back handspring, roundoff back handspring, and 1 side aerial without a spot.
