LDI Competitive Team Commitment Survey - Due May 30

LDI plans to offer different program pathways to support each individual dancer’s goals, interests, capabilities, and availability. Please select the option that best reflects your dancer’s priorities and commitment level for the upcoming season.

What are your family’s top priorities when choosing a dance program? (Choose up to 3)
My dancer is interested in:
an Accelerated Style Program (Dance is 1st Priority and interested in more!)
a Hybrid Style Program (Want to balance Dance with Outside Activities/Sports)
a Flexible or Part-Time Style Program (Love dance but want a lighter competitive commitment)
Other

If you chose a more Accelerated Style Program...

Dance comes first.

This program is designed for dancers seeking the highest level of training, more classes per week, extra performance/competitive opportunities, and competitive commitment.

Families in this program understand:

  • Dance will be the primary extracurricular priority

  • Attendance expectations are very high, frequent unexcused tardies will not be allowed.

  • Additional rehearsals, conventions, and competitions will be required

  • Additional technique classes would be required to support the added rehearsals/competitions, which may be scheduled on weekends.

  • Additional training opportunities may be required throughout the season and summer.

  • There is a limited number of approved absences due to mandatory  outside events.

  • Dancers are expected to maintain the highest level of dedication and respect to both their teacher and peers in the classroom. This includes preparation, appropriate dance attire, focus, and active participation.

  • Dancers will be in class if injured and taking notes/marking on the side depending on injury

  • Dancers will sit on the side to take notes if ill (and able and not contagious) or will request a zoom link during mandatory weeks.

What are your dancer's goals for the upcoming season?
Are you comfortable with increased training, rehearsal commitments, and competitions?
Yes
Unsure - would need more information
Mostly - Up to a certain extent - Explain below:

If you chose a Hybrid-Style Program...

Dance and other activities are equally important.

This option is ideal for dancers balancing dance with sports, theater, music, academics, or other major commitments which tend to occur during regular class times throughout the year.

Families in this program understand:

  • Dancers still want quality training while maintaining balance

  • Commitment and attendance expectations remain important, so accommodations will need to be discussed and set in advance before the dance season begins taking into account the entire season.

  • Dancers must have a strong attendance; frequent unexcused tardies will not be accepted.

  • Dancers may have a tailored dance schedule to meet training requirements which could require additional technique classes throughout the week or weekends.

  • Dancers are expected to maintain dedication and the highest level of respect to both their teacher and peers in the classroom. This includes preparation, appropriate dance attire, focus, and active participation.

  • Choosing to do a Hybrid program will mean if an outside activity causes a dancer to miss multiple dance classes, the dancer will most likely not be able to take or compete certain affected classes

What activity or season impacts your dancer’s dance schedule?
During your busiest season, what level of dance commitment feels realistic?
Full attendance most weeks
Missing occasionally for games/rehearsals
Reduced weekend rehearsal availability
Missing multiple weeks of classes in a row

If you chose a more Part-Time Style Program...

I love to dance, but want a lighter commitment.

This option is designed for dancers who enjoy competitive dance and would like flexibility within our current program.

Families in this program are looking for:

  • Lower weekly time commitment

  • Fewer competitive expectations in order to balance dance with family time, and schoolwork.

What interests your dancer most about competitive dance?
What schedule feels best for your family?
